There's an opportunity for Republicans and Democrats to come to together and repeal Arizona's Territorial Abortion Law. We need a reasonable policy that protects women and new life -- not the extremes.

Matt Gress We must repeal the territorial law!

Arizonans want us to find common ground on the important issue of abortion.

We must repeal the Territorial Ban and return to the more reasonable 15-week policy that protects women and new life.

That's where I stand.

UPDATE: Gress said he did not vote to recess. His intent was to bring the bill up for consideration. And he predicts there will be a repeal vote next week.

I call on legislative leadership to immediately bring to the floor a measure that will repeal the territorial ban, restore modern-day protections for Arizona women, protect new life and make the 15-week statute the law of the land.
