It was a Sunday well spent as we celebrated Holi with a sea of colour in Central Park. This was a great event supported by @welovedartford and Cohesion Plus and I had a fantastic time. Thanks to everyone who came along to make the day so special.

It was a great pleasure to open a new shop, Village Stores in Colney Road, Dartford on Monday morning. The shop stocks a wide range of foods from India, England, Sri Lanka, along with fresh fruit, veg and meat.

Thank you to everyone who came to Dartford Borough Council’s Carol Concert last night. The cold snap meant the location moved to Acacia Sports Hall, but the spirit of the evening warmed us all. It was a pleasure to hear everyone in full voice to ring in the festive season.

It was an honour to attend Dartford & Crayford Sea Cadet's Annual District Trafalgar Parade yesterday, I was so impressed after my inspection of the Cadets with the excellent effort made regarding their very smart uniforms and polished footwear.

We attended the opening night of Hello Dolly, a DAODS production on Wednesday at the Orchard Theatre. It was a joy to watch. Smiles were abound from both the cast and the audience and I would highly recommend the show for a visit. Tickets are available up to this Saturday

It was a great honour to attend the British Gurkha Nepalese Community, Dartford Annual Cultural event at the Glentworth Club earlier this month. I was made so welcome and was amazed at the beautiful colours of the traditional clothing. The community spirit was excellent.

A very nostalgic morning on Sunday visiting the very popular classic car and motorcycle event at Hawley garden centre. The Care For Veterans charity team were also there raising funds and awareness. I spotted a few car models that I had owned in my younger days too!

The sun was shining at Ingress Park on Sunday for a brilliant family fun day, where we joined by none other than Strictly Come Dancing legend Len Goodman! It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves in such picturesque surroundings.

It was a privilege to officially unveil The Orchard Theatre’s new community planters this morning. The flowers are a great way of brightening up the town centre, while also increasing bio-diversity and supporting wildlife.

I’m very excited to be opening the Stride4Life fundraiser on Sunday. I look forward to seeing local people raising money for Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust’s Cancer Fighting Fund, which supports patients living with cancer who are being treated at Darent Valley Hospital.

It was my great pleasure to visit the North Kent College for the Creative Society's End of Year Exhibition last Thursday. It was a diverse and very interesting display showing all aspects of art and design. We had a very informative tour from Tom Legge, Head of Curriculum for Art
