Today I recieved a service charge demand for £6200

My service charge doubled due to costs involved in registering our building to the Building Safety Regulator in accordance with BSA 2022

Once again - I think this is an element of the inquiry's act which should go. Parties gave opening + closing statements and witness evidence. That's enough. This just provides an open door to delay and obfuscate, which is enormously difficult for affected families to endure

Obviously the delay to the report means a further delay to the police investigation, which means a delay to justice. Inquiry says it is due to the 'right of reply' element inquiry's are obliged to follow proving 'significantly larger and more complex than originally expected'

Very disappointing update from the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, revealing a further delay to the publication of the Phase Two report. It will not be ready before the 7th anniversary and no new date has been given for its publication

Soaring service charges are placing an intolerable strain on leaseholders.

Greater transparency is part of the answer but we need a more fundamental conversation about how we better protect leaseholders, and particularly shared owners, from unreasonable charges.

Data from Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities shows half of high rise mortgage valuations still require an EWS1 – despite the industry pledge not to ask for one if a building has remediation funding or you're a qualifying leaseholder.
