The Radiology Medi-Gators Program team did a great job on their WIDI is Wisdom in Diagnostic Imaging presentations at the Medi-Gators Mentorship Program Expo & reception last week. Congrats on your award for Outstanding Project in Health Education!
Our work has been hard. ED boarding, overflowing waiting rooms, short staffing has really emptied my tank. This beautiful piece by a former mentee from Medi-Gators Program UF Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship reminded me of my fav part of the job. Our trainees. TY for filling it back up. shemd.org/post/shadowing…
Medi-Gators Program thrives on the dedication of leaders such as Dr. Kirsten Freeman who donate their time to pave the path for under-represented students in medicine and share their experience with the next generation of healthcare providers!
Last week, Dr.Kirsten Freeman, an assistant professor in the division of cardiovascular surgery, spoke to FLORIDA students at a Medi-Gators Program event. When it came time to sign up for the cardiac surgery session, just under 100 students put down their names.🩺🫀
Since Medi-Gators was created in 2020, more than 120 women have been featured in our program.
With women making up over 70% of student participants in Medi-Gators each semester, it is important that our students have women in healthcare to look up to. #WomenInMedicineMonth

For this #MentorMonday , we have a tip about research! A lot of the UF Health faculty are involved in research. Simply searching up a department you are interested in and finding out more about their research could present excellent opportunities!
