Synglisis is a phenomenon linked to alterations in the electronic structure of a semiconductor if it can transition to higher crystal symmetries. As symmetry increases, various band extrema situated at different Brillouin Zone points can become equivalent.....

Progress in Perovskite Solar Cells! Maintaining efficiency while scaling area is a challenge. We report thermotropic liquid crystal additives that do not cause defects in large-area perovskite films. ~21.1% in 32 cm^2 area. Stable under harsh conditions! nature.com/articles/s4156…
