Down on the River Irk at Lower Crumpsall park, Manchester today for our #Loveyourriverirk family day with our friends Groundwork Greater Manchester
If you are in the area come down to see the insects living in the Irk that provide food for the fish, Kingfishers and herons around the river.
We recently collected riverfly equipment to take to St Cecilia's Primary School for a session about river invertebrates. Thanks to Armadillo for providing storage. #freestorage #armadillo
Always enjoy going to StCeciliasPrimary to teach the children about the importance of rivers and what challenges they face. Of course the highlight is always looking at the river invertebrates! Lots of great questions and knowledge from both classes, well done year 4! 👏
