Meant to say…if you want a print of my scrawlings framed go to rugbycommentators.com for loads of games. Apparently British & Irish Lions 1997 Second Test is sparking interest (and I was much neater then!) plus Alzheimer's Society My Name'5 Doddie Foundation
Bowel Cancer UK will benefit!

You may find this is interesting, you may not…but here’s a little insight into my version of the pulling together of those thoughts you have in match prep. And, I hardly used a jot of it over the last weekend of all weekends! That is, of course, just how we commentators like it!

Surely we’ve just witnessed the greatest weekend of World Cup rugby. The last two nights in Paris will stay with me forever. To the players, who should always be the focus, thank you! Our sport has its troubles but, when you see it played like that, we will be ok, we really will.

Back to Paris for two monumental games! This year, I’ve been lucky enough to call three of the greatest games I can remember…
Ire v Fra; La R v Lein; Ire v SA and I honestly can’t recall anticipating a pair of back to back matches quite like the Paris two this weekend. ITV Rugby

By Sunday evening, we will have a clear sight of the ⁦Rugby World Cup⁩ quarter-finalists. There will be no sharper focus this weekend than in Paris when Ireland meet Scotland on Saturday. What an occasion! So too, tonight in Lyon, where France meet Italy.

Another week to ❤️ in 🇫🇷!Mr. Darcy turned it on in Lille; Thursday in Toulouse a classic World Cup night in a hot bed of rugby; and all after the never to be forgotten Paris match of Ireland v SA. Now feels like I’m at Bletchley Park prepping permutations for !

Paris is simply full of green shirted fans and some are already taking their seats for tonight’s much anticipated giant clash between Ireland and South Africa. Everybody also keeping across events between England and Chile.
It’s all live ⁦on ITV1 & STV.

You know how it always pays to look up at buildings when you are walking along, to get a real feel for a place’s architecture? Well, the same applies when you are in a stadium at the Rugby World Cup!
tonight in this beauty here in Marseille.

France’s No.1 calf with an Olympique de Marseille style work out.
Cyril Baille doesn’t get the headlines of a Dupont/Penaud/Alldritt but his return tomorrow, along with that of Jonathan Danty, will be absolutely key to home chances of lifting the Cup.

Room with a view!Checked in yesterday with Marseille FC at home. They like a firework! But, they still may have heard my yelps watching Fiji. What a weekend. Ireland also looked great & the fans in Nantes were amazing. Now need to find a bar showing Nottingham Forest tonight & some CG noise!

Hot on the back of Fiji, another great night!
As they did in Japan, U.R.U. leave you wanting their replica kit (yesterday’s was giving off 1970s Everton/Newcastle 2nd strip vibes) but, more importantly, they leave you wanting to replicate their attitude. To Nantes we go…

Paris and Bordeaux were unforgettable 🏉 nights.
Now Lille and the chance to meet up with Jorge, media for U.R.U. who I last saw four years ago in Kamaishi sharing another unforgettable 🏉 day.
Just love how ⁦⁦Rugby World Cup⁩ brings together friends, old and new.
