You may find this is interesting, you may not…but here’s a little insight into my version of the pulling together of those thoughts you have in match prep. And, I hardly used a jot of it over the last weekend of all weekends! That is, of course, just how we commentators like it!

Surely we’ve just witnessed the greatest weekend of World Cup rugby. The last two nights in Paris will stay with me forever. To the players, who should always be the focus, thank you! Our sport has its troubles but, when you see it played like that, we will be ok, we really will.

Back to Paris for two monumental games! This year, I’ve been lucky enough to call three of the greatest games I can remember…

By Sunday evening, we will have a clear sight of the ⁦Rugby World Cup⁩ quarter-finalists. There will be no sharper focus this weekend than in Paris when Ireland meet Scotland on Saturday. What an occasion! So too, tonight in Lyon, where France meet Italy.

Room with a view!Checked in yesterday with Marseille FC at home. They like a firework! But, they still may have heard my yelps watching Fiji. What a weekend. Ireland also looked great & the fans in Nantes were amazing. Now need to find a bar showing Nottingham Forest tonight & some CG noise!

As they did in Japan, U.R.U. leave you wanting their replica kit (yesterday’s was giving off 1970s Everton/Newcastle 2nd strip vibes) but, more importantly, they leave you wanting to replicate their attitude. To Nantes we go…

Paris and Bordeaux were unforgettable 🏉 nights.
Now Lille and the chance to meet up with Jorge, media for U.R.U. who I last saw four years ago in Kamaishi sharing another unforgettable 🏉 day.
