We know that guaranteeing Missouri’s strong foundation starts with a quality education for our children.

This year, we will once again fully fund the K-12 Foundation Formula, bringing the base foundation funding for public education to more than $3.7 billion.

We are also fully funding school transportation across the state of Missouri.

.Governor Mike Parson’s State of the State address: continued funding to support: 1) the grant program that ensures Missouri teachers make at least $40,000 a year, and 2) the Career Ladder Program (additional pay for additional duties)

This year, to do our part on teacher pay, we are including funding to increase teacher baseline pay to $40,000 per year. This represents a $15,000 increase for teacher pay during our administration. We are also recommending $6 million for Career Ladder.

Our state is in critical need of quality early learning. Business leaders est. a lack of early learning programs is costing our state over $1 billion annually.

85% of Missourians believe early childhood learning supports a child’s success, parents’ success, and business success.

I want to thank the Parkway Spark! teachers and instructors for providing these high school students with dynamic, immersion-based student learning experiences and helping prepare them for the jobs of the future.
