Annan, where obligingly (your photographer having got a soaking from a heavy downpour) the clouds lifted and sun came out about five minutes before ScotRail 156514 and 156462 arrived with 1L56 Carlisle-Glasgow Central. 📸©️: Graeme Pickering

My first stop yesterday, less than two miles from home, was the Metrocentre, to change trains for Carlisle. Coming in the opposite direction was Northern 🚆 Class 158815 working 2N20, the 10.55 Hexham-Battersby service. 📸: ©️ Graeme Pickering

Afternoon bake and first attempt at a Lemon Drizzle Cake. Used a new loaf tin that was bigger and that really helped it. Used juice of 1 lemon with the caster sugar for my drizzle. 👌 perfect. I love baking. My happy place.

Great news for the Shipley area on probably one of the worst-kept secrets of the year so far given site clearance and planning applications had already been made. We've details of what was already known in the current issue of The RM..

Incidentally, asked for further info weeks ago, but told nothing could be released pending official announcement. I was, however, assured we'd be among first to know when a ministerial visit was planned..and invited. No invitation to that visit (taking place today) was received.

Great to have WWT Washington almost on our doorstep. It's the perfect place to walk around & decompress, observing the amazing residents. Each time I do, I feel grateful Sir Peter Scott agreed to work with Washington Development Corporation to make it happen - nearly 50 yrs ago.
