Who knew there was so much /goddamn/ thinking when it comes to gamedev. We've been doing a lot of backend work on the game's rhythm based battle mechanic and are sooo close to having our greybox done. Then I can actually start drawing stuff again lol.

When we were still in Unity (now moving to UE5) we made a mockup to test how it will all look in engine. The fps ain't great, but it was cool to see how much the 2D art can hold up to viewing angles. Seeing ANYTHING that resembles a final product is beyond exciting.

Stills progress from our previous time lapse post. The enemies in our story are rapid unstable mutations based off of the hosts it infects, so working from the guts up helps shape a lot of the design and mechanics of each 'jack'.
