#WomenEd Being10%Braver 🦩 Last month I applied for the next step in my teaching career. The role was advertised as full-time but I was and asked if they would consider a part-time option. I was successful at interview and they have offered it as a job-share 🎉

Today's Diverse Educators #DiverseEd blog is by Maz Foucher for The MTPT Project

Why are we still denying part time and flexible working to those in leadership roles?

Another year of poor ITT recruitment is on the cards, with 11 out of 17 subjects below target, and geography and primary also likely to be below. Bursaries and international recruitment propping some subjects up a little, but generally weak like last year

Flexible working allows women to progress and men to take on more of a share in caring responsibilities - both of which will improve the shocking 20% gender pay gap in the education sector.

‘The educational sector’s poor standing is due, in part, to large gaps in Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs); of the worst-performing 100 public bodies with the largest gender pay gap, all but three were academy trusts.’

Really shocking. 👿👿👿

In honour of the Gladiators final, here’s my son doing all the moves during the opening titles.

For me, the plaster on his head, his sudden decision to get a unicorn to help him and his impression of Viper really add to it.
