Sad truth. Heartening that the Baroque module Music at Sheffield this term focuses first and foremost on female musicians - I lectured on Bembo and Strozzi yesterday but they had Caccini last week and Leonarda next. A far cry from my undergrad, where no woman was mentioned in 3 years…
