Part of the NACWG Phase Two work to date has examined the Scottish Government’s response to the cost of living crisis.

Marginalised women and girls are still feeling the harmful effects of it, with many living in deepening poverty.

Over the last year, we've worked with the Empowering Women Panel, a group of marginalised women brought together to share their experiences.

This has seen members go on an intense learning journey, forging bonds and opening up to others' perspectives.

Our report highlighted the need for open accountability mechanisms, meaningful lived experience participation, and improved joint-working between national and local governments which prioritises the lives of the most marginalised women and girls.

Today the NACWG has launched its Phase Two report.

It outlines our work to date, activity with the Empowering Women Panel, and suggestions for improvement for the Scottish Government - including where immediate attention is needed.

It was great to see our members and Scottish Government officials gathered as we all strive towards the same goal, #GenerationEqual .
We look forward to progressing with Phase 2 and continuing to tackle gender inequality.

This afternoon we will be looking at the progress of the NACWG's Phase 2 work on our Second Focus of Scrutiny, examining the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on women and girls.
We'll provide feedback on the evidence gathered and open dialogue on the successes and challenges.
