The irony is that few lawmakers care about the deficit bc the deficit is too 𝑏𝑖𝑔. In the 1990s, you could promote deficit reduction with more marginal policies. Today, you must aggressively reform Social Secuity, Medicare, and/or middle class taxes. Few want to discuss that.
