The National Hub has published its first data overview report summarising data on child deaths and child death reviews in Scotland.

It makes five recommendations.

Last year Households in Temporary Accommodation APPG reported 34 children had died where temporary accommodation was a contributing factor.

It has now received an updated figure from National Child Mortality Database (NCMD) which reviewed thousands more deaths between 2019 and 2023.

Shared Health Foundation say the true number is likely higher.

55 homeless children have died in Temporary Accommodation since 2019. 42 of them were under 1.
