For me, this video o Joe Biden comforting the families of the victims of the Parkland shooting says so much about Joe Biden, the person and the leader.

It is not enough, but it is encouraging that the temporary ceasefire will allow for humanitarian efforts to bring relief to Palestinians in Gaza and the release of Israeli and other hostages.

We stand up to extremist politicians because we know the truth in what Dr. King taught us:

“True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice.”

In all that we do—in every classroom throughout our nation—we must fight for that presence of justice.

Teachers should not have to pick up a second or third job to survive. If we want to appreciate teachers, we need to raise salaries for teachers nationwide.

We banned mine waste disposal in Alaska's Bristol Bay watershed – protecting fisheries Native People have relied on for millennia.

Because of it, and tireless advocates, this priceless resource will be protected for future generations.

It's impossible to put a price on that.
