'Mirror' is a dazzlingly moody, atmospheric & discomfiting piece of flash fiction from K.R. Mullins.
This story is amazing!! It gave me goosebumps when I heard K.R. Mullins read it live and gave me goosebumps reading it again, just now. Do yourself a favor, break your heart a little.
Had the honor of hearing a version of this live at Andrew Bertaina's 804 reading series. So, so glad this stunner by K.R. Mullins will reach a wider audience.
'All your life, you’ve wanted to be a house with enough rooms to protect every soul you love from the damages of the world. . . .'

My poem, “The Red Planet,” from my forthcoming book The Sweating Sickness (Pitt Poetry Series ‘25) is featured at New England Review today! It’s about a fever my son had last winter, parenting at the tail end of the pandemic, & Mars.

These lyric essays eventually became a multi-media collaboration w my friend Kyle Peets, a printmaker and sound artist. This 'station' (Lema Sabachthani) was the first to be published. Thx for New England Review for giving it a home: nereview.com/2021/11/17/sta…
