Woodbourne CF staff participated in the Walkway Over the Hudson American Heart Association Heart Walk to support the fight against heart disease & stroke. Not only did staff raise $500, but they honored survivors & assisted in the promotion of heart health & mental health.

As we celebrate Earth Week, on May 1st, Acting Comm. Martuscello stopped by an Averill Park Universal Pre-K class to read “The Important Book” & talk about taking care of our earth & ourselves. The class was responsive, enjoyed the book & their guest reader. It was a great visit!

Lakeview SICF participated in “Drop Everything And Read,” also known as D.E.A.R, by putting aside all distractions for 30 minutes during program & encouraging I/Is to read. Let’s continue to encourage one another to make reading a priority in our everyday lives.

DOCCS honors the memory of the 43 colleagues who have died in the line of duty since 1861. Today, on April 22, 1993, Elmira Parole Officer Theodore Clark was on duty, driving a vehicle, when he was struck by another driver who had lost control of the vehicle.
