Page 1.
This may not be what you expected from me.I certainly never meant to write a dual timeline.
The schoolgirl assassin’s only in a fraction of the book, but she dominates its soul: the shadow life, the brave resister, the one who sacrifices herself so that we can be here today.

A glorious day. Our daughter successfully defended her MA thesis, which marks the end of 6 wonderful years for her University of Toronto. We celebrated right after at the Harbord House pub, then went book-shopping in Little Italy and grabbed this haul from She Said Boom! ❤️

Just noticed the date!
I write my books from May to May. It's like the adage about dating for 4 seasons before you commit! Love that wrote over 12 months as well. It’s seasonal, it’s gestational, it’s wired to some inner clock for productiveness & hope🩷

To copyright their look, clowns can submit their likeness to the Clowns International Group where their look will be painted onto an egg. This is then kept in the Clown Egg Register in the Dalston church where Grimaldi the Clown was buried in 1837. I did not make this up.

My editor once asked me whose voice I hear when I write.
The narrator’s, I told him.
Who’s the narrator? he asked with surprise.
I don’t know, I replied—I just know it isn’t me.
But listening to this, now I know: it’s Juliet Aubrey ❤️
