Thank you, UN Special Rapporteur Richard Bennett for drawing attention to freedom of religion or belief as well as other human rights violations. Targeting people on grounds of their religious beliefs risks jeopardising all of their rights!

Religious minorities, like everyone else, should be able to live in safety and security; be able to mark religious holidays peacefully; be able to assemble and gather together peacefully for prayer. North, east, south or west we need an end to hate and learn to cherish diversity

This call from the international alliance of states supporting freedom of religion or belief in relation to humanists and the non-religious is very welcome. An end to blasphemy laws, the introduction of anti-discrimination laws, and equal citizenship for the non-religious.
