Hear, hear! Am halfway through @claraemattei's excellent book 'The Capital Order' -- I would definitely recommend reading it to understand the intellectual origins of austerity.
Great review of Jonathan Haidt's book by Candice Odgers. Social media have been similarly implicated in generating filter bubbles/echo chambers, helping to usher the so-called post-truth era, for which the hard evidence is also ambiguous at best. nature.com/articles/d4158…
