Sentencing guidelines from TODAY are changed to include pregnancy as a mitigating factor - to prevent pregnant women and new mothers from going to jail. We have been demanding this change for two years in solidarity with Louise Powell, Rianna Cleary and anyone pregnant in prison.

The practice of remanding pregnant women should be abolished, especially given the NHS acknowledges all pregnancies in prison are high-risk.
