Yearlist to end of April 2024 North Cave Wetlands stands at 144 species, with new birds for the month shown in Red.
The undoubted highlight of the month was the Savi's Warbler, which is a new bird for the reserve list.

Garden warblers', nest on the reserve annually, but they are always unobtrusive & difficult to see.
Until this last week, when one has been singing in the scrub alongside the Silt pond, visible in the higher parts.
A well spent 15 minutes this morning, just watching & listening

Often forgotten about, but as interesting close up as some of it's near relatives, a Little grebe very close to the South hide

A pair of little ringed plover were my highlight of the day, but the Bullfinches enjoying their handouts are always a treat! More than 50 species in a stroll! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’šπŸ‘
