Natterjack Toads have now emerged from hibernation on the Coast. Please keep dogs out of all pools, no matter how small, to help this rare & protected species have a good breeding season. Thank you.

These two left me with a very pleasant surprise this morning. It's great to see further spawning in the garden pond.

I'm made up to have the first Common Frog of the year to arrive at my garden pond. That's the 17th species photographed (19th overall) to visit the wildlife corner of the garden. Happy days. πŸΈπŸ’š

Lad and Dad had a great time volunteering at The Queen's Jubilee Nature Trail, Southport with the North Merseyside Amphibian & Reptile Group event this morning. We helped in cutting back overgrowth to restore habitat for two rare species - Sand Lizards and Natterjack Toads.
