After a wet winter it finally feels like Spring is arriving. It is as if the Somme landscape invites you in to explore it’s contours and secrets. History with every pace. Like these rolling fields taking the eye to Dantzig Alley. Spring sunshine finally warming our souls.

Tomorrow 5th August 2023 at 10h00 there will be a service to commemorate the composer George Butterworth at the memorial to him in Pozieres. Anyone in the area is welcome to attend. He died on 5 August 1916. The service will include some of his music. #butterworth #dli #pozieres
