For millions of people caught in crises, finding a reason to be happy in the current state of our world is a struggle.
This #HappinessDay is a reminder that, now more than ever, we need solidarity and unity for a more peaceful and humane world.
I chaired my first United Nations Humanitarian Country Team meeting in #Nigeria . We discussed the dire humanitarian crisis in the northeast & other regions amid current economic challenges. We must explore all options to ramp up safety nets for the most vulnerable in support of Government of Nigeria.
My first field trip as United Nations Resident/ Humanitarian Coord. in #Nigeria , was to #Maiduguri , and fondly dedicated to the good people of #Borno State. Deep appreciation to Borno State Gov't, UN staff and the humanitarian community._
We joined Borno State Gov't and KOICA NIGERIA OFFICE to launch the second phase of the #Borno project which will be implemented by UNFPA.
🇳🇬🇺🇳🇰🇷
The project will build resilience and provide essential medical services for women and girls in the state.🚺

No child should have their water sources contaminated by leaking and overflowing sewage!
Together with Borno State Rural Water Supply & Sanitation Agency and Sida, we are providing regular toilet evacuation across IDP camps in northeast 🇳🇬 to protect vulnerable children and families

Babagana Umar Zulum Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum on strengthening United Nations Nigeria & Borno Gov’t collaboration to advance HR, safe, durable solutions for those affected by conflict. Kudos to our humanitarian partners too.
No child should be left without quality healthcare, that's why with support from Bundesentwicklungsministerium KfW we have handed over the Hajj Transit Camp Primary Healthcare Centre, medical supplies and equipment to Borno State Gov't
