The main purpose of these burns is restoring white oak savannas, which are one of the most endangered ecosystems in the West, with only 2% remaining.

Oregon just established a Prescribed Fire Claims Fund to cover potential damages resulting from prescribed burns! This will help to reduce barriers to burning on non-federal land.
