Calderdale's toads are moving to their breeding sites. Take care if you are driving in the evening (look out for toad road signs). Slow down & be aware that Toad Patrollers could be in the road helping toads to cross safely. They will move between now & mid April on mild evenings

Following the heavy snowfall this morning, our gritters are out clearing the primary routes. We advise against travelling unless absolutely necessary but if you do need to drive please take extra care and drive slowly @calderdale

Please note that due to the snowy conditions on all roads & especially Ogden Lane, it might be a good idea to give Ogden a miss today & explore the winter wonderland in your local area. Lower car park is open however the lane is full of snow and icy.

Xmas tree recycling Ogden Water Halifax again this year. Drop by classroom or Visitor centre. Please remove all decorations and do not block the gates! Donations welcome to help upkeep the reserve.

We are loving the Yorkshire Countryside Code, especially after the battering sites are taking.

Attended ogden water after reports of a fire. Got there to find a large family having a bbq in the woodland area and dealt with them accordingly. Please be advised having fires/bbq's at ogden is prohibited

Ogden Water Halifax is open, but no toilets or visitor centre. Advise a clockwise route round reservoir path and keep dogs on lead here too. No cycling, BBQs/open fires. Remember social distancing and put litter & dog poo in bins. Enjoy sensibly & responsibly. Calderdale Council CalderCountry
