With 40-44% fail rate of prospects

That ~50% reduction of scholarships to HS kids, and getting worst.

Could be said that most college coaches, especially at the D1 are terrible at evaluating talent/players

This could include AAU directors who push kids to certain levels

What we don’t know is the percentage of players left because:

Chasing the bag
Chasing opportunity
Essentially fired by their coach / university

If we could know those percentages we could deduce a few things

Roughly 1900 Prospect in the Transfer Portal

It closes today

Just over 600 have found homes.

~1300 have not found places to play

Historically 40-45% players never play college ball at any level again.

That means at least 760 players this year are done.

AAU recruiting has drastically changed.

High majors are recruiting fewer high school kids. Unless you can play right away, they are going to the portal.

That is trickling down to the other levels.

They are taking experience in the portal first.

If you have an offer, take it.
