SENTENCED: Simon Goold, 52, sexually assaulted, raped and murdered fellow student Lizzy McCann, 26, at his home in Ashton, Manchester. Lizzy was found dead on 25 August 2022. She had been strangled with a ligature. Goold was sentenced to a minimum of 35 years
