If the Tories want to recover after the general election, they should try and be more Andy Street and less Suella Braverman, ideologically and strategically speaking. But it feels like they’ll do the opposite.

“you're not a Conservative party any more” is correct.

But not in the way Braverman thinks. Conservatism used to be pragmatic, conservative, centre-right. Now it’s an ideological sect of Brexit zealots and free-market fundamentalists.
