I did a really fun ride and book event with the Rapha Clubhouse in Santa Monica today and for sure one of the highlights was getting a hug from Phil Gaimon and only realizing 2 hours later that he slipped a 1-pound cookie in my jersey pocket.

I known for years that women's and men's bike racing should be appreciated separately for their brilliance, but in moments like this I can't help but remember the years of complaints of negative racing from dudes who wanted to dismiss women's pro cycling.

Did any of y'all watch the Japanese Grand Prix last night? Verstappen was so far off the front that 95% of the coverage was of the racing behind him. IMO a bit more of that philosophy could be deployed in a race like that.

I generally have accepted the benefits of disc brakes in pro racing but when you see a 20-second wheel change in a flat race like Scheldeprijs, I have to imagine that many riders are ambivalent.
