It was an honor to recognize amazing Black men and women at yesterday’s council meeting- the Mardi Gras Indian Council, Blonka Movement Non-Profit Organization founder Blonka Mack, & Toya Boudy, all homegrown treasures. Hearing Plessy School sing the Black national anthem in Council chambers was the cherry on top.
