Vital.. as, despite the NHS Resolution report & guideline consensus, I am still hearing of many podiatry, nursing & diabetes teams who are not yet invested in basic vascular assessment & ! Risky!

👍 … especially if foot pulses are not palpable, pain in the forefoot & toes is constant & severe, for more than 2 weeks. Helps to differentiate from dependent venous rubor (no limb threat).

Similar appearance, but with palpable foot pulse & night cramps (comes & goes) 👇

David G. Armstrong This is a really important question. The skills and technologies we have in the MDT mean we can salvage more but what about those times the patient may be better off without the limb and could be more functional without it. Hard conversation but necessary sometimes.
