Victory! More than 200 petrochemical plants in the US will now be required to curb toxic pollutants.
In January, Antonia Juhasz documented how pollution from fossil fuel + petrochemical plants in Louisiana’s “Cancer Alley” created a human health crisis.
Today an amicus brief was filed in the US Supreme Court in Grants Pass v Johnson by me and the SR on Extreme Poverty Olivier De Schutter. Punishing homelessness constitutes cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, and a gross denial of right to adequate housing. A double punishment.
Congrats Utah Law Review & my fabulous Seton Hall Law colleague Sara Gras for publishing her new article: Positioning Podcasting as Legal Scholarship dc.law.utah.edu/ulr/vol2024/is…

Diversity is a strength, not a threat.
Yet, racism is a problem in every part of the world.
During Racial Solidarity Week, UN Human Rights explains how we can all speak out to #FightRacism & intolerance: ohchr.org/en/get-involve…
No country can claim to be free of racism.
Millions still endure the consequences of the historical denial of their humanity.
We must & can do better.
It's time for recognition, justice, dignity & equality for all. #FightRacism
Despite painful concessions in the compromise text, the endorsement by EU member states last week of the #CSDDD is still a major advance for corporate accountability & must be actioned promptly, reflect former #ITUC Sec Gen Sharan Burrow & our ED Phil Bloomer

Congrats again to Teneille Brown and Emily Murphy, whose amicus brief was discussed extensively (and approvingly!) by SCOTUS during oral arguments this morning
