In 2021, my friend Carole was diagnosed with terminal stage four cancer. A single parent with two kids, she had just turned 43. In 2017, she had watched her brother Chris die of the same cancer. He too was in his 40s.

In patients w/ cardiovascular disease & overweight or obesity but no diabetes, semaglutide was superior to placebo in lowering the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events at a mean follow-up of 39.8 mos. Full SELECT trial results: nej.md/465pj91
