Podcast interviews are more fun when they're with friends. So great to talk with Dr. Beth Stovell and Jon Stovell about home and theology and Lebowski, among other things!

Had a dream last night where I was recommending Vincent Lloyd's 'Black Natural Law' to someone, and the person was like, 'Everyone already read that years ago, you behind-the-times hack.'

I almost never listen to anything I've recorded, but I made an exception for this one because Kelly Corrigan is such a spectacular conversation partner.

The perils of transliterating with autocorrect on: trying to take a note about God being 'above all things' (ὑπερ παντα) and getting one about an amped up ailuropod ('hyper panda').

Are you the kind of thinker who thinks everyone is saying what you're saying and misinterprets them so they agree with you?

Or are you the kind of thinker who thinks nobody else has ever gotten anything right because their work isn't just quotes of your exact words?

What a surprise to have our book Life Worth Living on that list right after Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist!

'You don't have to win. You just have to love.'

A friend nearing the end of his life recently shared these words, which his mother shared with him at the end of her life.

Moltmann told me once that were he to start his theological work afresh, he exposit biblical texts much more. The source of renewal of theology is Scripture, he explained. In this book, we follow his advice; the entire book is a reading of Exodus, Gospel of John, and Revelation.

6 y/o and I both published books yesterday: “The Home of God” (with Miroslav Volf) and “Badgers and Weasels.”

Mine is available pretty much anywhere you buy can books.

His is a precious keepsake but if you ask nicely he might hand copy one just for you.
