There's no both sides and there's no middle path with white supremacy, lawlessness, and corruption. They all have to be uprooted and called out, no matter who it offends or implicates. Supporting Trump is supporting treason and that's been clear since 2015.

we don’t have to say “women” and we don’t even have to say “people with uteruses.” we’re not a small, specific numerical minority. unless a specific context calls for it, we can just say “people.” people deserve reproductive rights. people deserve bodily autonomy from the govt.

Last year, almost 43,000 US residents died on the road—many killed by the massive SUVs & trucks now crowding dangerous, poorly designed highways.

What would it take to reduce that number by two thirds, saving tens of thousands of lives every year?

- Telling bicyclists to “stay focused & alert” is like telling drivers to “stay seated.”
- The biggest hazard, by far, is the 3-ton vehicles designed to blunt the senses, and confer power and anonymity in a system optimized for their throughput.
- There is no way to avoid them.

America doesn't have a shortage of gas.

We have a shortage of bike lanes, five minute cities, and safe pedestrian infrastructure.

When Allie was struck & killed, our lives changed. Forever. We’ll never sleep w her nestled between us again. Or watch a sunset while eating s’mores. She deserved so much more. We all deserve safe streets & leaders with the political will to make it happen.

When I say that traffic violence is affecting every DC resident, I mean every.single.one. Allie’s friends shouldn’t have to live this. These 2 were born 1 day apart, they should have been friends for life. DO SOMETHING DDOT Director (Parody) Mayor Muriel Bowser Mary M. Cheh Charles Allen

Not sure who said it first, but it’s right… We need cities designed for autonomous kids, not for autonomous cars.

Remember: we’re still on track for the highest number of traffic fatalities in a calendar year since 2007. The status quo isn’t enough. Back to basics isn’t enough. Sweeping changes are needed in all corners of the city. eastoftheriverdcnews.com/2021/10/27/six…

You’re not stuck in traffic, you’re stuck in a cycle of car dependence maintained by state law, federal funding, local media, the engineering profession, racist land use planning, and a relentless deluge of money from automobile, defense, and fossil fuel interests.

Every single DC resident should be outraged by the behavior of Governor Larry Hogan and Governor Glenn Youngkin. The only people paying the price for deadly driving on DC streets are DC residents, and that’s unacceptable Mayor Muriel Bowser Council of DC

There are some amazing people at DDOT trying to do big things to transform the District into something safer for everyone. They get just as angry when people are hurt. My frustration is with the agency's leadership blocking those staff members from doing what they know is right.

When is enough enough? At what point, do they say that the status quo is insufficient? When do the people we've entrusted with leadership decide to do something different in defense of life?

These are the questions I know you're asking today and so am I.

Hey Mayor Muriel Bowser DDOT Director (Parody) @DDOTDC CM McDuffie's Office, today I commissioned an urn for my 5-yr-old killed in a crosswalk. What did YOU do today to make our streets safer for vulnerable users? How about demanding reciprocity w/MD, VA? 1/2

In the last hour, two people were struck by drivers in DC, one on foot and the other on bike. If we treated our streets like we do airplanes, we shut them down, diagnose the problems and only reopen them when fixes are done.

Rather than hire a school bus, it's relatively common for entire classes of Dutch children to hop on their bicycles, and cycle together to a field trip location such as a museum, swimming pool, or cultural site.

Hackney Cyclist caught one such outing in the small city of Meppel.
