Today marks 3 years since 16yo Ma’Khia Bryant was killed by police in Columbus, OH. Ma’Khia called the police for help, & an officer killed her. As we have seen again & again, interactions with police are devastating, traumatizing, & sometimes deadly for Black girls. #sayhername

Yesterday, JUFJ and our partners, including Racial Justice NOW! 👦🏾👧🏾 Maryland Youth Justice Coalition ACLU of Maryland The Baltimore Algebra Project and Maryland Office of the Public Defender (MOPD) rallied outside Governor Moore’s office in support of youth justice, asking him to veto harmful anti-youth justice legislation HB814 (the Juvenile Reform Act).

I was proud to be there to stand up for justice for our children 🙏🏾

Black children are NOT disposable. Governor Wes Moore you must not expand the already harmful enough carceral system to children as young as 10. Bruh! Come on now.
