Great example of temporary infrastructure based on placemaking. Road closures can (and should) be so much more than red/white traffic barriers

Edinburgh Castle has been one of my daily-walk destinations during lockdown. It's been quiet and empty for ten months but that seems to be changing. Unfortunately and feels like it's turning into a (admittedly very picturesque) car park.

What a fabulous set of photos from Bruce Street. The new facades is second phase of the Sustrans Scotland's Pocket Places project and has really brought life and colour to the street. Hopefully will also bring footfall for businesses re-opening next week.

The UK news I've read mainly mention difficulties getting goods in from EU - but seems to go both ways. So disappointing.

True story: 1st time I met Pete Buttigieg it was in Copenhagen in 2016. Part of a delegation of Mayors with Sec of Transportation to study Danish bike culture in hopes of bringing it home.

He’s our next Sec of Transportation. Let’s get Americans cycling. 🇺🇸🇩🇰🚴

Denmark is calling off all future oil adventures in the North Sea. As the EU's biggest oil producer DK is less green than its brand. But this is a huge shift so it's worth celebrating! dr.dk/nyheder/indlan…

In Danish newspapers today it started well with 'Scotland ends period poverty'.
Respect!
But the next article is now 'covid causing poverty: British middle class families rely on charities for food' dr.dk/nyheder/udland…

We just had this installed in Bruce St, Dunfermline. Looks great, but the real test is when we monitor the project to see if our new 'roof' helps slow down, or even remove, traffic from the street and give space back to pedestrians sustrans.org.uk/our-blog/news/…

Hmm... The 10-lane motorway bridge that carries 150,000+ vehicles through the centre of Glasgow every day is now a listed building. I know they say 'celebrate failures', but - really?
