Our research (with @robertsbrown57 Christine Corso) from @heqco and TDSB Research Dept. shows gradual increase in grades over 15 years, then sudden jump (like other boards). But also: highest-ever proportion of students going on to PSE & better progress for many marginalized groups.

Student voice in teacher research. TDSB Research Dept. take us thru the iterative process of embedding student voice. They share Gholdy Muhammad words about listening to Ss themselves as best forms of data. Student voice should move from expression & consultation 2 leadership & sharing power.

Canada is a country on Indigenous land. It’s only right that we include Indigenous perspectives. The purpose of making this class compulsory is to include Indigenous voices in the high school curriculum, to make it a little less Eurocentric.Isaiah Shafqat
