One of the most important things we're doing at workshopu.org is teaching students to recognize the difference between stuff that they control (and how to manage it) and stuff that they don't (and how to manage their REACTION to it).

Yes! 'This is what student voice really means to me. It’s not just asking a question, opening the floor, or handing students the mic. It’s letting go of control, trusting them, and seeing and hearing them on their terms rather than our own.' @rigganmatthew nextgenlearning.org/articles/what-…

Matthew Riggan and I are pitching a session for SXSW EDU challenging the hyper focus on job/career readiness and suggest society also consider employer readiness; employers and workforce entities need their own education and skill development to better support+retain employees.

A gem of an article on by Matthew Riggan. 'Personally, I am happy to let the machines [write boring words for compliance], the same way I am happy to build budgets in spreadsheets rather than using an abacus and some parchment.' nextgenlearning.org/articles/chatg… Next Generation Learning Challenges

RE in : '...Schools have long specialized in making students artificially intelligent. Schools are especially vulnerable to ChatGPT and the like because they ask students to do so much work that’s formulaic.' Wisdom from Matthew Riggan: nextgenlearning.org/articles/chatg…

Matthew R. Kay We wrestled with it SO EARNESTLY for years. When we finally pulled the plug on students having them, it took all of a week for them to adjust. There are still complaints but amazing how much of a non-issue it was.

Excellent, provocative blog from Matthew Riggan of The Workshop School, asking: shouldn't colleges and employers contribute more than they are to the skill development of the young people who find their way to them? Next Generation Learning Challenges nextgenlearning.org/articles/who-i…
