Pleased to confirm that Government funding for the Local Improvement Scheme has been doubled to a total of €22m today. This scheme supports the improvement of non-public roads and lanes such as providing access to people’s homes, farms and outdoor amenities. Heather Humphreys

Brilliant to see funding allocated to Longford and Westmeath libraries this morning as part of the €700,000 funding for library supports. This funding will provide a range of equipment, classes and activities in libraries across the country. Westmeath County Council Longford County Council

It is immoral for oil & gas companies to be making record profits from the current energy crisis on the backs of the poorest, at a massive cost to the climate.

I urge all governments to tax these excessive profits & use the funds to support the most vulnerable people.

Remembering our party's founder and leader John Hume on the second anniversary of his passing.

Thanks to John's efforts we live in an Ireland free from the threat of violence and bloodshed.

He gave us the tools to build a better future and it's time we realised his vision.
