This issue features a wonderful mix of prose, poetry, and art, with essays on Ugandan tribalism, the nettlesome legacy of Uganda’s ruling party, Sol Plaatje’s South Africa, Julius Nyerere’s faithless followers, and the homelessness of Ugandan modernist art:

Congratulations Rodney Muhumuza The Weganda Review on the second edition of your journal! You are stepping in to fill the gap in our cultural space. If you are looking for some wind down reading, this journal is a #1 recommendation. I've a short story: Waiting in the Frangipani Tree in it.

Henry Kyemba was a great Ugandan and a generous man. I'll never forget the ride in his vintage Volvo one afternoon in Jinja. The author of a book about Idi Amin's Uganda, he had a rich personal archive, into which I was once admitted. He should be remembered for many years.

“Power, of course, is vampiric. We enjoy it only because someone else does not. Power is what philosophers would call a positional good, meaning that its value is determined by how much of it one has in comparison to other people.” — Eula Biss/On Immunity
