Protection Approaches’ latest study showed the alarming extent of hate crime targeting East and Southeast Asian communities in the UK yet significantly underreported.

If a hate crime goes unreported, it remains unseen, as if it never happened.

This , we continue to work towards rights for all workers in the UK. This means an end to restrictive work visas and all workers having accessible options to report, leave or challenge exploitative work

In the last year

📉 10% of ESEA people subject to hate reported it to police
🙅‍♀️ 63% felt police wouldn't take it seriously

A national hate crime strategy developed in collaboration with community orgs is needed to rebuild trust🤝

Andy Fearn On Your Side Victina Tse Southeast and East Asian Centre - SEEAC’s Mariko Hayashi notes how people’s immigration status can compound and complicate their ability to report and seek support

She emphasises the need for placing community organisations at the heart of policymaking so these complexities are accounted for 🗣️
