Just watched the Netflix series based on this incredible trilogy, and was not disappointed! The dramatic beats I anticipated lived up to or exceeded expectations and the tweaks were mostly for the better. Can’t wait for season 2!

We will see if it wins, but I thought Oppenheimer was the best film I saw last year. I also really liked Rustin, May December, The Covenant, and a few of the superhero flicks. Although, there are a dozen more films I still have to watch from 2023: letterboxd.com/smenendian/lis…

On the occasion of Cormac McCarthy’s death, reflecting on what a masterpiece Blood Meridian was & the startling parallels to Moby Dick. Beyond Ishmael/the kid & Ahab/the Judge, McCarthy described the desert in such vivid and psychological terms much as Melville described the sea.

I have enjoyed every second of the Lakers playoff games this season. Although they are down three games, every game has been thrilling. Even if they ultimately lose this series, I’m just hoping for more games. 🙏🏽
