Sunday is #WorldQuantumDay !
As a huge upgrade from classical computing, quantum computing has the potential to revolutionise various fields. 🔢
PsiQuantum are developing a quantum computer using qubits, a different approach to usual methods. 💻
Find out more below. 🎥👇
Exciting results published recently by the Berkeley Lab led and Science and Technology Facilities Council supported Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument or DESI collaboration. DESI has now brought us even closer to answering some of the biggest questions in physics and there is still much data to come.

It's #NationalPetDay ! In 2011, the computer security team CERN set up an animal shelter for computer mice.🐁
Originally an April Fools joke sent to staff to remind them not to click on strange links, it ended up providing many mice long-term sanctuary.🖱️

Hello from Alan Cross, Science and Technology Facilities Council North West Space Cluster Development Manager at the 39th Space Symposium in Colorado.
Alan highlights what he’s been up to this week, curating collaboration across the UK Clusters ecosystem and internationally🤝
#SpaceAtSTFC
Another fantastic day at the Space Symposium in Colorado🚀We had the popular Fish and Chips stand event sponsored by UKspace and the UK Pavilion were delighted to welcome Governor Jared Polis to the stand to discuss the UK’s space offering 🇬🇧

We were very sad to hear of the passing of Professor Peter Higgs. The Higgs Centre for Innovation on site Edinburgh's Royal Observatory, a partnership with The University of Edinburgh and Science and Technology Facilities Council, was named in his honour.
This work would not have been possible without invaluable help from the Central Laser Facility and Science and Technology Facilities Council
Welcome back to #LifeatSTFC , where we get to meet the people that work across the UK in our science facilities. 👷♀️👷🏽♀️👷🏻♂️👷🏼♂️
This week, we meet Dr Alex Bainbridge, a Magnet Physicist based Daresbury Laboratory. 🥼
Look out for next week's episode! 👀

MOONS Milestone 🎉
100s of fibre positioning units allow MOONS to simultaneously observe 1000 celestial objects! Co-ordinating these FPUs is a complex ballet, now the system has been tested end-to-end in the lab at UK ATC.
