Vehicle stolen from Notts Police area, sighted & pursued until ambition outweighed ability & driver crashes into a post.

Male detained by the dog & arrested by officers 🚙🐕🚓👍

Dearne Valley Parkway:

More disruption tonight with another vehicle seized after a pursuit which ended in Bolton Upon Dearne.

Subject vehicle drove down an alleyway before being abandoned.

No arrests this time but the night is still young!

Tankersley:

Our RCU went on the hunt for suspected fuel thieves who were sighted trying to steal fuel from HGVs near to the A616.

Two vehicles sighted in a lay-by & boxed in. A few runners but one arrested on suspicion of going equipped + other offences.

Both vehicles seized.

A busy few days for our Road Crime Unit again...

First up in Sheffield we had three arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs & weapons offences following the stop of a vehicle near Attercliffe.

One very large 'rambo' style knife also recovered.

A drunk woman who decided to get behind the wheel of her car to go and obtain more alcohol has appeared before court.

Rebecca Turner, 58, of New Rossington, Doncaster was stopped last month and blew 125 at the roadside.

Rotherham:

Another stolen vehicle recovered & another male arrested by our road crime unit in Rotherham yesterday.

Vehicle was on cloned plates & was stolen from the West Yorkshire area a few days earlier.

Today we're remembering PC Matt Lannie who died while on duty in 2020.

Matt was a much-loved colleague and friend, who loved being a police officer.

His loss was felt across the force and today we remember the ultimate sacrifice he paid for serving his communities 💙

Doncaster:

Our Road Crime Unit travelled over to Doncsster yesterday on tasking.

Within an hour they had already pursued this stolen transit, arresting one of the occupants as they decamped from it.

Vehicle recovered undamaged to be returned to the owner 👍

M1 Barnsley:

Attention drawn to this Mini driving erratically on the M1 Northbound.

Vehicle stopped, and, after wading through a few false truths we establish there's no current insurance in place for the vehicle.

Vehicle seized, driver reported for no insurance/licence 🚙🚓👍

James Hirst, 33, of Westminster Crescent, appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court for sentencing after his acting antics failed when he alleged his quad bike had been stolen, to try and get it back from police.

This Citroen attracted our attention in Hexthorpe due to the simple reason that the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt...

A few quick enquiries showed the vehicle was uninsured with its VEL also having expired in January.
