Thank you Bookshop.org for asking me to create a list of my favourite summer reads. Languishing in a garden deckchair, sun-dappled, book in hand, is one of the treats of summer. So here are a few brilliant summery novels .... Happy reading!

Sunshine, lemon trees and ancient cobbled streets…first trip abroad for Seven Months of Summer in beautiful Palermo. I left my copy behind in our AirB&B. Wonder if someone will find it and read it. I like the idea of passing books on. Does anyone else do the same thing?

One of the main settings for Seven Months of Summer is coastal Suffolk. It’s the place where I grew up, and the huge skies, pebbly beaches and wild, ever-changing seascapes are etched in my heart, so I loved imagining my characters in this familiar part of the world.

Seven Months of Summer is dedicated to Cassidy, my grandson, who came into the world at the same time as the book.
Ten months later, Cassidy is taking his first steps, and my novel is about to hit the bookshelves.
I can only hope my story will bring half as much joy as he does!

Saskia Sarginson Again. Loved it. Read it over Christmas and enjoyed it very much, especially as I know London and Norfolk well. Plus my parents used to own a small boat on the Thames! So so much felt familiar. Thank you.

2022 was a tricky one, reading wise. In amongst the 78 full MSs I read on submission, a 100 or so partials and 13 full edits I did, I only managed to read 43 novels for pure pleasure. If you're interested, these were my absolute favourite 19 .

Here is a thread of some of the romcoms and books about friendships I’ve had the joy of reading this year. They’ve made me laugh and cry and value those in my life. In no particular order…
