We have been here for more than a 1000 years, and we will be here for another 1000 and more!💪🏼

The principal place of worship in the Armenian Quarter is St James' Cathedral. It's only open to the public a couple of times a day and it's rarely visited. It's thus a much more spiritual place (to me at least) than the Holy Sepulchre.

There are many very Holy places in Jerusalem: the Western Wall, the Holy Sepulchre, Al Aqsa/Qubbat aṣ-Ṣaḵra being three of the most important. In total there are >15 synagogues, >11 churches/cathedrals, & >13 mosques in what is now called the Old City.

The Armenian Quarter is the smallest of the 4 remaining quarters of Jerusalem. [There were 9 - read Matthew Teller's excellent book for the full lowdown]

And it is under threat.

These young guys are on the front lines in the battle to secure the character of Jerusalem.

It's a role they didn't choose, but when the threat to the Armenian Quarter emeged, they rose to the occasion.
